Walt Evanyk
Walt Evanyk, the Chief
Technical Officer of
P²’s
, invented
P²’s
patented circuitry and is responsible for developing
specific applications of that circuitry into various
electrical appliances.
Mr. Evanyk began his professional career at Picker
Medical, Ohio Nuclear, and at General Electric as
Chief Scientist. He was involved with the research
and development of various medical products such as
CAT, NMR, and vital sign and nurse station devices.
A sampling of his research includes projects such as
ion engine development, communications through the
skin (for NASA and the Foundation for the Blind),
plasma HID devices, switching power supplies, and
brushless DC motors.
As Director of Engineering at Spectradyne, Mr.
Evanyk’s responsibilities included the design and
introduction to manufacturing of a new generation of
cable set-top boxes, frequency-agile modulators, LAN
systems, and telecommunications equipment. At
Spectradyne, he also served as Vice
President/Director of Engineering of Precision
Electronic Products and was responsible for the
design, building, and installation of RF bilateral
set-top communications. In addition, Mr. Evanyk led
the engineering of SCI-COM, producing electronic
surveillance solutions for NSA and other government
agencies.
Next, he served as Vice President of Technology in a
Spectradyne spin-off called Cable Health Care (CHC).
CHC supplied multimedia, interactive services, and
LAN communications in a medical treatment
environment that involved medical data retrieval and
vital physiological data measurements.
Mr. Evanyk’s recent affiliations have been with MCI
and Ericsson, working on multimedia, broadband
networks, data engineering, CATV, and PCS, which
incorporates CDMA/GSM/WOFDM voice, data, and video
products. He served as a Business Development
Technology Manager at Ericsson and participated at a
senior level in Ericsson’s Technical Council.
Having contributed to more than 65 patents, Mr.
Evanyk has published numerous technical articles and
served on several corporate patent review boards.
For several corporations, he has participated in the
strategy and forum work relating to cable/DSL
modems, CMTS, VoIP, Bluetooth, OFDM, 802.11a/b/h/g,
802.15.4, 802.16, and 802.3 Wireless LAN-WAN and
optics. He has also contributed to several business
intelligence committees.
Mr. Evanyk stays involved with wireless biometric
physiology, biological and pathogen detectors and
sensors. He has participated in software forums,
Bluetooth Interest Group (BIG), RFID, and a Biotech/Biomed
Division. He was named Chairman of the Dallas-Fort
Worth Homeland Security Alliance Communications
Sub-Committee. Recently, Mr. Evanyk was honored for
his contributions to the international development
of a state-of-the-art communications satellite and
was nominated to the FCC’s Technical Advisory Board.
