New Electronic Technology Improves Energy Efficiency of Consumer Appliances

Richardson, Texas — P² today announced the invention of its revolutionary energy optimization technology. This patented technology encompasses a number of circuit designs that manage the power supply of a battery-operated device. The circuit works within the device to control the delivery of power so that power is provided only when it is needed, thereby improving the performance of the device and the length of time between necessary battery recharges.

“The benefit of the circuit to each application or device can actually be measured,” said Walt Evanyk, Chief Technical Officer of
P². By exploiting the unique characteristics of each device’s energy requirements, the company has discovered an improvement in battery performance of 25-200%, depending on the application and/or device.

Initial examples of applications for this patent include:

Clothing Irons
Leaf Blowers
Power Tools
Electric Cars
Coffee Makers
Hand-held Massagers
Heat and Glue Guns
Electric Law Mowers
Portable Consumer Electronics
Toaster Ovens
Alarm Systems
Rechargeable Flash Lights
Personal Care Appliances
Space Heaters
Portable Fans
Battery-operated Toys
Solar Power Cells
Laptop Computers
Cellular Phone Batteries
Vacuum Cleaners

P²’s technology can also be applied to products utilizing alternating current. “We believe the circuitry will reduce energy consumption in large appliances such as clothing dryers, dishwashers, air conditioners, electric furnaces, and freezers,” said Mr. Evanyk.

Founded in July 2003, P² is developing and prototyping its technology for a wide variety of applications and devices in its Richardson, Texas laboratory. The company is also working with specific manufacturers in various industries to bring improved products to market under licensing agreements.

Mr. Evanyk, the inventor of the circuitry, has over 30 years of technology development experience and has contributed to more than 65 patents. He has published numerous technical articles and served on several corporate patent review boards. Mr. Evanyk recently served as a Business Development Technology Manager at Ericsson and participated at a senior level in Ericsson’s Technical Council. He has been involved in several corporations’ strategy and forum work relating to technologies as various as Cable/DSL modems, CMTS, VolP, Bluetooth, OFDM, 802.11a/b/h/g, 802.16, 802.3 Wireless LAN-WAN, SOHO/BLEC, Optics.
